We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our clients team in Norway.
Our client is the leading international Energy and Petrochemical company. Responsibilities : In this role, you'll manage the Ormen Lange Production Chemistry Laboratory. In detail, this will involve: * Leading your team of chemical analysts to high performance output * Providing a safe and healthy working environment * Providing technical and performance coaching, and developing your staff to provide a fit-for-purpose capability in line with quality management system requirements * Independently challenging, framing and agreeing work with a broad range of customers * Prioritising work for the laboratory * Independently out-sourcing work within an existing contract framework * Authorising results from your team * Providing a laboratory data and information infrastructure which meets customer requirements, with quality data easily accessible in LIMS, PI, MEGsim etc * Providing expert advice to customers to maximise the laboratory's contribution in the most efficient way * Keeping technical contacts with Shell internal and external bodies. These include laboratories, standards and ISO committees * Acting as process custodian for the EP-25 process * Deciding on the right work priorities for your team in a complex, highly demanding business environment, and balancing these with internal HSE activities, QA/QC requirements and the development needs of your team * Providing a healthy, challenging work environment which provides time for staff development and performance coaching * Innovating laboratory capabilities to efficiently align these with business needs * Maximising the value of information that chemical data provide * Influencing stakeholders to invest in fit-for-purpose laboratory assurance systems based on a strategy driven by business risk assessment. Required Skills/Experience: With a BSc or equivalent university degree in analytical chemistry or an equivalent discipline, you'll have substantial experience in an EP laboratory environment. Detailed practical and theoretical knowledge in relevant analytical methods is essential, and you'll have excellent understanding of the business and the related impact of laboratory information to at least K level. We'll expect you to be skilled in operational lab HSE, QMS (ISO9001/17025) and project/data/contract management, and your leadership, management, motivating and influencing skills will be first-class. You'll possess fluent verbal and written Norwegian and English language skills, and be a good team player with an open and constructive attitude. You'll be working independently on the basis of a work programme which will be initiated by you and your team leader. |

Regulatory affairs would be advantage. Duties- · Prepare hazard communication documents (MSDS & labels) · Review new and reformulated product chemistry for regulatory compliance and determine when new chemistry requires notification. · Monitor changing regulations and communicate potential impacts to the Business. - Maintain global systems, procedures and databases. - Define chemical composition and nomenclature for manufactured substances and blends before entering into corporate databases. - Review new raw materials supplier's chemistries and determine if regulatory conformance is equivalent to existing specifications. - To respond in a timely and professional manner to queries from all areas of the Business as well as directly from customers. Requirements - Must have degree in Chemistry or Toxicology Excellent problem solving skills Able to work effectively as part of a team with good communication skills, verbal and written. The purpose of the project is to develop and embed a company capability to design knitted mesh products with defined end properties using design tools derived from a fundamental engineering approach. Working between the Liverpool university and our client’s site in Flintshire, the successful candidate will have a First or 2:1 degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering. Experience in structural analysis and awareness of structural optimisation is required. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as attention to detail. This is initially a 2 year contract, however at the end of the programme, it is intended that the successful candidate will take up a senior role within the company. In return my client is offering a basic salary circa £24,500 pa depending on experience. |

This is initially a 3 month contract.
Principal activities include: · To review existing risk assessments carried out by fellow team members. Deliver a professional, high quality report that conform with our clients' standards and satisfy the requirements under HSE L8 ACoP Codes of Practice (essential) · Participate in the promotion of legionella management procedures to ensure they meet our clients' Commitments (Statement of Compliance) to the Legionella Control Association (LCA) Code of Conduct (essential) · Carry out own legionella risk assessments - including the preparation of site schematics - and produce reports and prepare specifications as required · Any other relevant duties as required by the Legionella Risk Assessment Team Leader and assigned Project manager .
